When Casey Coin started Prom of Ages in 2003, she had only one goal in mind: to finally give the best night of their lives to the geezers who didn't get the proms they deserved. And that's exactly what she did. Dusting off the disco ball at the Beachland Ballroom, Coin blew up 220 balloons, decked out the stage with streamers and a gazebo, and had the 21-and-over crowd shimmying away in their taffeta and tuxes all night long. The first bash was such a success, the Beachland has decided to make Prom of Ages an annual event. Each May, aging hipsters are encouraged to relive their brace-faced Breakfast Club days, as DJs like Racecard and bands like the Afternoon Naps take the stage, playing the best of the '70s, '80s, and '90s. And unlike your high-school prom, you won't get kicked out for showing up hammered. In fact, it's encouraged.
