Beachwood Family Aquatic Center

To find 10-foot-tall water slides with more twists and turns than an M. Night Shyamalan plot, you could go all the way to Geauga Lake's Wildwater Kingdom - or just spend a day at Beachwood's municipal pool. At this family-friendly "aquatic facility" (it's too chic to call itself a pool), tons of squirmy, pot-bellied children run about, squealing as they dive off the Aquatic Center's two diving boards, while young athletes clad in Speedos backstroke down the center's lap pool. At the "sprayground," toddlers shriek and gasp as they run in and out of fountains of water. The facility's main attraction is two monstrous covered slides, which rise like the slopes of a mountain ridge.
