Best Radio News Reporter

Greg Saber, WTAM-AM 1100

A rarity in commercial radio, Greg Saber doesn't broadcast stories straight out of the newspaper. Instead, the deep-voiced gumshoe hits the streets to dig up the news you want. "He goes with ease from interviewing the family of a shooting victim to talking to the mayor to recapping the latest sports news with a Browns fan," says former co-worker Karen Kasler, 2003's "Best Radio Newscaster" and now the statehouse bureau chief of Ohio Public Radio & Television in Columbus. "He knows exactly what he wants to say, and says it with a great economy of words."
