Best Rookie With a Broken Leg

Kellen Winslow

At the point in his career when most guys are carrying the luggage of veteran players, Winslow quickly took ownership of his team. Who else could clock a guy in a half-speed practice drill and earn near-universal support for the gesture? An opening-day starter despite his lengthy contract holdout, Winslow looked sharp on offense and especially on special teams, where so many regular starters are content just to mail it in. It's a Browns fan's luck that such a talented newcomer would bust his leg in game 2. Be patient, li'l dawgies: Winslow will be back someday, and someday he'll be huge.
