Best Rookie

Carlos Boozer

Boozer proved in his first year with the Cavaliers that size does matter -- when it comes to heart. In averaging 10 points and 7.5 boards a game, the 6-foot-9 forward, dismissed by most scouts as too small to excel in the NBA, showed that brains and desire matter at least as much as height. If a far more heralded incoming rookie -- a young man you might have heard of named LeBron James -- puts up similar numbers in his first season, fans will anoint him the Second Coming of Air Jordan. For now, we'd be content with another Boozer.
