It's cool, tart, and completely delish, but don't even think about trying to replicate the French 75 at home. For one thing, it wouldn't be the same without the Velvet Tango Room's plush opulence as a backdrop. For another, the bartenders guard the recipe like a nuclear launch code. They'll tell you it features champagne, cognac, and lemon, but they won't tell you the secret ingredient. And while you can find the complete recipe on the menu of at least one other West Side watering hole, we're not about to give it away. There's something magical about a mystery, and that's something Velvet Tango Room owner Paulius Nasvytis knows better than anyone.
