Love's Labour's Lost, Great Lakes Theater Festival

From the ambulatory orgasm that was Andrew May, in the role of Don Armado, to the Carl Spackler-inspired Costard played by Jeffrey C. Hawkins, Love's Labour's Lost felt like a comedy jam stuffed into a sex romp. Drew Barr's lively and witty direction and Kim Krumm Sorenson's wardrobe kept the proceedings lively. But the laughter peaked when a contingent of lords disguised themselves as Russians, with one uttering the immortal explanation that they had come for "piss and yentil veezitation." That's "peace and gentle visitation" to you -- and that's just one of the lines that made this Labour so damn lovable.
