The Infinite Regress of Human Vanity

Murphy Guyer's The Infinite Regress of Human Vanity, which had its premiere at the Cleveland Play House, manages to skewer the pretentiousness of arts organizations with a cutting social satire in the tradition of Mark Twain and George S. Kaufman. Set at a terminally P.C. theater festival manned by every brand of megalomaniac, the play was a delirious ode to anarchy. It was good to see the Play House triumphantly flex its artistic muscles.
