Even without all the sexed-up get-ups they used this year, it would have been a banner season for Cleveland Public Theatre. Located in the revitalized Detroit Shoreway neighborhood, CPT has been putting on kick-ass shows for a while. But they goosed up the energy level this year, with a rousing and raunchy reinterpretation of Shakespeare's Measure for Measure, the tantalizing Stars Fell All Night, and a lyrical staging of Our Town. And for those die-hard Frank-N-Furter fans, there was sex aplenty in The Rocky Horror Show. Employing a restless sense of adventure married to solid professionalism, Cleveland Public Theatre again proved it's the top -- and apparently the sexiest -- company in town.
