Shopping at secondhand stores can often be overwhelming, what with the excessive selections and mixed quality of the wares to browse or dig through. But the Common Threads resale shop, which opened just last summer, takes away some of that stress by offering shoppers a more boutique-type experience, with plenty of high-end designer fashions to choose from. The shop is the first social enterprise of the community-based program Building Hope in the City, so you can also feel good about spending your money at Common Threads. Those looking to get more involved with the thrift store can donate gently used clothing and furniture and also sign up to volunteer at the shop.
