There’s less than a week left to check out Catherine Opie’s 1999 & In and Around the Home photography display at MOCA. The exhibit combines a pair of recent series by the Los Angeles-based artist. The color photos capture everything from an ominous-looking cloud to a tiara-sporting child. Opie, a Sandusky native, documents communities that are all-American, though they often exist on society’s fringe. Gay couples, urban families, and sun-lovin’ surfers populate the pics, which serve as a vivid reminder that this is a big, beautiful, and colorful country.
Tuesdays-Sundays, 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Starts: Dec. 26. Continues through Dec. 30
