Seasonal Special Happenings

Big in Berlin

When: Fri., April 4 2014

Tonight at the Cinematheque, take a chance on the “latest triumph” of Romanian cinema, a new wave-style critique of society’s nouveau riche. It’s about a woman who’s a cutthroat architect and who will drop dead before she sees her deadbeat son in prison. It’s called Child’s Pose and it won top honors at last year’s Berlin International Film Fest. If your curiosity has been inspired by some of the slower (or foreign) titles at the Cleveland Film Fest, use this opportunity to reintroduce yourself to the Cinematheque’s terrific year round programming. Tickets, as always, are $9, for tonight’s screening at 7:30 and tomorrow’s at 9:25 p.m. (Sam Allard)
