Bobby Keys & the Suffering Bastards/The Jack Fords

When: Wed., Oct. 17, 8:30 p.m. 2012

Sax man Bobby Keys has the kind of musical resume that makes him overqualified for most gigs. While still a teenager, he toured with Bobby Vee and Buddy Holly, and he’s played on albums by the likes of Joe Cocker, Dr. John, and Harry Nilsson. You can hear him on some of the Rolling Stones’ best work from the early ’70s, too. In fact, he wrote about his musical exploits in the well-received autobiography Every Night’s a Saturday Night. None of this solo stuff has really stuck, but he’s currently touring with a killer band that includes the Georgia Satellites Dan Baird and Black Crowes’ drummer Steve Gorman. Expect to hear them kick out a few Stones covers. (Niesel)

Price: $20 ADV, $25 DOS
