Blossom Music Center will be rocking throughout September with acts like Kiss, Journey, and Jason Aldean. But the Blossom Festival season — where you can enjoy a peaceful picnic on the lawn without worrying about the rowdy crowd around you — draws to a close this weekend. The new Cincinnati Pops conductor John Morris Russell will lead the Blossom Festival Orchestra in a program of tunes from musicals like The Lion King, Jesus Christ Superstar, and Wicked. Lisa Vroman, Debbie Gravitte, and Doug LeBrecque — all veterans of multiple Broadway shows and special concert appearances — will provide vocals. The concert starts at 8 p.m. Saturday, with a reprise at 7 p.m. Sunday. Both performances will conclude with fireworks, weather permitting. Lawn tickets are $20; pavilion seats range from $25 to $85.
