Browns vs. Bengals

Doors open 10 a.m. Sunday, September 11. No cover. Blind Pig Speakeasy, 1228 W. 6th St., 216-621-0001.

Legendary coach Paul Brown started with the Massillon Tigers, moved on to Ohio State, established the Cleveland Browns as a dominant force in professional football, was ingloriously dismissed by Art Modell, and closed his career in Cincinnati, where he founded the Bengals. Now Brown's latter-day team will face the Browns in their home opener. Don't have a ticket? Watch the game at the Blind Pig, the West Sixth spot that's always busy on game day. Have a ticket? Stop in on your way to the stadium -- liquid refreshment is inside, with a grill outside. Football season is here, and it's never too early for pulled pork or Cajun chicken.
