Buggest Out

A bunch of creepy insects crawl in for a fest.

The Cleveland Metroparks’ annual BugFest bash doubles as heebie-jeebies central today. In addition to all the insects on parade, culinary experts will share recipes and prepare dishes made with crickets, ants, and other tasty critters. There’s also craft-making sessions, live music, and storytelling -- all focusing on creepy-crawlies, of course. The Bug IQ station helps visitors figure out exactly what scurried across their kitchen floor this morning, while Buggyworld presents a puppet show for the little ones. Plus, there’s the popular Mealworm 500, in which lots of tiny, squirming larvae race for a prize.
