Former Cash Explosion host Leilani Barrett teaches beginners some old-school popping and locking at tonight’s Hip-Hop Dance Class for Adults at Playhouse Square. “He warms you up first,” says Linda Jackson, Playhouse Square’s dance manager. “So nobody gets hurt.” Barrett shows students a series of basic steps tonight, but by the time the weekly course winds down next month, he’ll have them doing the worm down Euclid Avenue. “We don’t want to scare anybody off if they’ve never done it before,” says Jackson. “We’re not going to ask anybody to bust a move on their heads.”
Tuesdays, 6-7:15 p.m. Starts: Jan. 30. Continues through Feb. 20
