“Playing Pennsylvania Bluegrass since 2006”: That’s how Cabinet introduces itself to the world at large. And that’s a comforting thought. Embracing the old and the new, Cabinet dives in head-first among the heady waves of newgrass music hitting the airwaves these days. Start with the 2008 self-titled debut and proceed from there. The multifaceted jam of “Elizabeth” is a terrifically fun initiation into what this band does best. “Made my way toward Cleveland / Gonna dig my feet in the sand” - nice, homey images like that dot the landscape across the album. “Wine and Shine,” similarly, is a pleasant-pickin’ song. Tonight’s show is sure to toss a lot of strings your way, which is always a good thing. Holy Ghost Tent Revival opens. (Sandy)
