Caravan of Thieves/Mark Sherepita

When: Wed., Nov. 28, 8 p.m. 2012

In 2008, a husband-and-wife realized they really enjoyed singing together, so they started a band and took the show on the road. Now that same band, dubbed Caravan of Thieves, has been touring steadily. The group uses scrap metal and animation to make their shows interesting. Released earlier this year, their new album, Funhouse, features songs that describe how life can be like a funhouse: sometimes funny, sometimes scary, and always surprising. The songs on Funhouse are upbeat and have a sound reminiscent of the Beatles’ Sergeant Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band. In a song like “Monster,” the duo describes how love can turn anyone into a monster, and in “Live Forever,” they write about longing to live forever. Dubbed “Homeless for the Holidays,” this tour will raise awareness for homelessness and half of the proceeds from their single “Ms Priscilla Pumpkin” will go to the National Alliance to End Homelessness.
