When: Sat., May 21 2016
The digital revolution is upon us, but this year’s annual book sale at Case Western Reserve University will feature physical releases — some 70,000 of them. The sale, which includes books, prints, maps and atlases, sheet music, CDs, DVDs, records, play scripts, and memorabilia, celebrates its 70th anniversary this year. This year’s sale includes a giant rock ’n’ roll collection featuring biographies (solo performers and groups), song books, CDs, memorabilia. Most items are in excellent condition with some are still in their original shrink-wrap. The anonymously donated collection stretches from the late 1960s though the mid-’00s. According to the official press release announcing the sale, most of the items are priced to “get them into the hands of readers who are looking for literary works, tell-all biographies, Civil War histories, urban fantasies, cookbooks (hundreds!), how-tos and/or the 'hard' and natural sciences.” As in the past, the sale will be held at Case Western Reserve University’s Adelbert Gymnasium. Free parking will be available near the gym. The sale begins today and runs through Tuesday. It’s free and open to the public, except for the pre-sale preview that runs from 10 a.m. to noon on May 21 and costs $20. 2128 Adelbert Rd., acesite.org/book-sale.
