CD Review: G Huff and Vice Souletric Beats

Where Do We Go From Here?

comment

Newsflash from G Huff and Vice Souletric Beats: The situation in Youngstown is worse than we thought. Where Do We Go From Here? pokes around the rapper's hood and finds nothing but bullet holes and easy women. Yes, the Glocks and cocks combo is an old one, but Huff saves himself with rapid-fire rhymes that unload with the force of a handgun. The power and choppiness of his flow recalls rap granddaddy Rakim; just listen to "Wise Guy" for proof. Huff packs the same heat on "Gunz and Butter," but skip the track's "Phone Call" prelude, in which Huff and a pal discuss plans to shower before a night out. Even ballers know the importance of good personal hygiene. — Phil Barnes
