Chutes to Thrill

The Metroparks' toboggans pack in the wintertime fun.

The Chalet Toboggan Chutes of Cleveland Metroparks are 700 icy feet of action. It’s like taking a roller-coaster ride wearing mittens. Plus, the twin refrigerated chutes work whether it snows or not. “That ice isn’t going anywhere,” says the Metroparks’ Dan Crandall.

Prepare to wait your turn, however. The popular event is always crowded. Our advice: Go on a rainy day. You’ll get a little wet, but the lines aren’t as long, and the chutes are super-slick.
Thursdays, 6-10 p.m.; Fridays, 6-10:30 p.m.; Saturdays, 12-10:30 p.m.; Sundays, 12-5 p.m. Starts: Jan. 18. Continues through March 4
