Coheed and Cambria/the Dear Hunter/3

When: Tue., Oct. 16, 7:30 p.m. 2012

If you’re a sucker for concept albums, no doubt you’ve heard of Coheed and Cambria. The progressive rock/metal band that formed in 1995 has released 5 studio albums that are all about lead singer Claudio Sanchez’s science fiction story The Amory Wars, which has been converted into a series of comics and a full-length novel (and is about to become a full-length movie produced by Mark Wahlberg and Stephen Levinson). This week, the band plans to release the double CD, The Aftermen, the latest installment in the saga. The band has had its music played on the popular video game Rock Band, suggesting the group’s progressive metal sound isn’t that inaccessible. (Mendez)

Price: $25 ADV, $28 DOS
