Coppelia - A doll with enamel eyes

When: Fri., May 13, 7 p.m. and Sat., May 14, 1 p.m. 2016

Coppélia is a comic ballet based on two stories written by E.T. A. Hoffmann. Dr. Copplius is a doctor who has made a life-size dancing doll. It is so life like that Franz, a village young man, becomes infatuated with it and pushes aside his true love, Swanhilda. She shows him his folly by dressing as the doll, pretending to make it come to life and ultimately saving him from an untimely end at the hands of the inventor. Choreographed for Cleveland Ballet by world re-known Spanish choreographer, Ramón Oller, this one-and-a-half length production is suited for all audiences.
