Crumpet's Christmas

When: Thu., Dec. 5 2013

Connoisseur of the odd job, writer David Sedaris penned a brilliant tale of one of the stranger gigs he's had in The Santaland Diaries, which documents his time as Crumpet the Elf at a New York City Macy's in 1989. In the one-man show, Sedaris uses his cynical wit to examine the best and worst in all of us. Originally premiered on NPR in 1992, the play's since become a staple of the holiday season for those of us who aren't interested in Black Friday, office Christmas parties and ugly sweaters. Tonight's show starts at 7:30 and the play runs through Dec. 22 at Playhouse Square's Second Stage. Tickets cost $25 to $32.50. (Stoops)
