Seasonal Special Happenings

Cult Classics

When: Sat., Oct. 25 2014

Working off a script penned by Terrence Malick, Vernon Zimmerman originally filmed Deadhead Miles, his feature-length directorial debut, in 1971. Because the movie was shelved, it didn't arrive in theaters until 1982. The film centers on man (Alan Arkin) who hijacks a big-rig and embarks on a cross-country adventure. The film makes its theatrical debut tonight at 7 at the Cleveland Institute of Art Cinematheque. It will be preceded by a screening of Zimmerman's 1962 short Lemon Hearts and a screening of his 1980 cult classic Fade to Black follows at 9:45 p.m. Tickets are $9 to each program. (Niesel)
