Culture Clash

When: Thu., Feb. 26 2015

As if their new Winter 2015 exhibitions weren’t enticing enough (see our review of The Visitors at, MOCA’s partnering with the Cleveland Institute of Art to give you a very special reason to stop in today. At 7 p.m., the museum will host two powerful performances by Nao Bustamante and Alexis Gideon. Bustamante presents Silver & Gold, a combination of film, live performance, original “campy” costumes and audience participation. The work explores race, sexuality, glamour and film. Alexis Gideon will perform the score to his stop-motion animated opera, The Crumbling. This 21-minute performance examines the role and importance of words and symbols in our decaying, or “crumbling,” culture. Both performances are free with general admission to MOCA Cleveland.
