Dazed and Confused

Yes, Lez Zeppelin is a novelty group. Their name pretty much verifies that. But as far as all-female, maybe-lesbian, Led Zeppelin cover bands go, they’re pretty much at the top of the list. The N.Y.C. combo’s month-old self-titled debut album was produced by Eddie Kramer -- who helped shape Jimi Hendrix’s sound back in the day. So either these gals got it or Kramer’s mind is blown way beyond repair. Either way, Lez Zeppelin rocks more convincingly than other Page- and Plant-goofing jokesters like Dread Zeppelin. The songs -- “The Ocean,” “Communication Breakdown,” and “Whole Lotta Love” -- remain sorta the same.
