Deadstring Brothers

When: Sun., Sept. 30, 8 p.m. 2012

For the past decade, this Detroit act has mined ’70s blues garage-rock to deliver a collection of terrific albums for Chicago-based alt-country imprint Bloodshot Records. As much as those records stand out as alt-country masterpieces, the band’s forte is its live show where it really loosens up and lets loose. The Stones’ Exile on Main Street is the obvious point of reference, but these guys also draw from the Faces and the Band. (Niesel)
