DIIV/The Paranoyds/Bummed Out

When: Mon., May 23, 8:30 p.m. 2016

Fans of spacey, sad jams take note: DIIV brings its hook heavy brand of reverb-y indie rock to town tonight. Originally the bedroom project of songwriter Zachary Cole Smith, the band has evolved over the years, releasing two full-length records on Captured Tracks and touring in support of acts like Japandroids and the Vaccines. Their epic 17-track album Is the Is Are spans several career-defining hits as well as some less accessible material. “Under the Sun” and “Dopamine” are surefire crowd pleasers, combining trademark hazy instrumentation with Smith’s knack for good, structurally sound songwriting.
