The Ohio Center for the Book celebrates two of Marvel’s most creatively named superheroes today: Ms. Marvel and Captain Marvel. The pair will be the center of discussion during the “Trauma and Transformation” book club. The club, which focuses on raising questions about graphic novels, will dissect G. Willow Wilson and Adrian Alphona’s Ms. Marvel: No Normal as well as Kelly Sue Deconnick and Dexter Soy’s Captain Marvel: In Pursuit of Flight. Both books follow the early years of Marvel’s female superheroes and feature an abundance of mid-air fight scenes, forced dialogue and cheesy one-liners. The talk will start at 4 p.m. on the 2nd floor of the Cleveland Public Library. (Rees)
