En Plein Air

When: Fri., Sept. 9 2016

With summer winding down, the Valley Art Center celebrates Northeast Ohio’s “Emerald Necklace,” with En Plein Air, a juried exhibition opening with a reception from 6 to 8 tonight. Winners will be announced at 7 p.m. A French term, En Plein Air means “in the open air.” Each drawing and painting in this exhibition was created outdoors, in direct observation of the subject matter, rather than in a studio using sketches, reference photos or the artist’s imagination. En Plein Air was juried by local artist and VAC instructor Rob Crombie. The exhibition remains on view through Oct. 12 during regular gallery hours. Free. (Usmani)
