“Family is the gift that keeps on taking.” That’s the tagline for Happy Christmas, a dark comedy from Drinking Buddies director Joe Swanberg. The plot centers on a single young woman (Anna Kendrick) who disrupts the life of her brother (Swanberg) and his wife (Melanie Lynskey) after she moves in with him and offers to take care of his 2-year-old son in exchange for room and board. The film makes its theatrical debut at 9:35 tonight at the Cleveland Institute of Art Cinematheque and screens again at 6:30 on Sunday night. Tickets are $9. (Niesel)
