When the weather is warm,
Groundworks Dance Theater comes alive. "Summer used to be slack," says artistic director David Shimotakahara. "This is a tradition for us now." This weekend's performances at Cain Park feature a pair of world premieres, including artistic associate Amy Miller's "Eleveneleven." The piece doesn't follow a traditional narrative but rather explores "dramatic content and implications about relationships and things left unsaid," says Shimotakahara, who contributes a new dance inspired by Kent singer-songwriter Hal Walker. "He plays all these strange instruments in a really unusual way," says Shimotakahara. "I'm fascinated by him."
