The Mandel Jewish Community Center’s seventh annual Cleveland Jewish Film Fest kicks off tonight at 7 at Shaker Cinemas with a screening of the Dutch flick The Zigzag Kid, a coming-of-age story about a 13-year-old boy and the woman who changes his life. All in all, some 22 films will show at the festival, which runs through October 13. The films all have Jewish or Israeli themes, and this year’s films tend to skew toward the contemporary. Also, organizers will introduce a program of shorts for the first time. Tickets for the evening films are $10, and matinee tickets cost $8.
