The eighth annual Cleveland Jewish FilmFest kicks off tonight with a screening of The Third Half, a film about the daughter of a wealthy Jewish banker who falls in love with an Eastern Orthodox Christian soccer player. Based on true events, it was Macedonia’s entry to the 85th annual Academy Awards. The 10-day festival will include showings of some 25 films at six local theaters and venues. Tonight’s event takes place at 7 p.m. at Shaker Square Cinemas. Tickets are $10. (Niesel) mandeljcc.org/filmfest.
