Flatfoot 56/In Exile/The Old One-Two

When: Fri., Nov. 8, 8 p.m. 2013

With more than a decade of performing and touring, Flatfoot 56, which plays a Celtic-styled brand of punk rock, delivers a unique style of music that's mature and heartfelt even though the band is young and rowdy. The band originally consisted of frontman Tobin Bawinski and his two brothers. With the addition of a bagpiper and mandolinist, they've created a sound more akin to Celt-punk favorites like Flogging Molly or Dropkick Murphys. Their 2007 release Jungle of the Midwest Sea garnered them much attention and 2010's Black Thorn landed them on several Billboard charts but this band of hooligans is far from letting up on their punk roots. Following the success of last year's critically acclaimed album Toil, they plan to go back into the studio in January, so expect to hear some new cuts alongside crowd favorites like "That's Okay" and "Courage."
