Fort Buchanan

When: Sat., Aug. 20 2016

A 2014 film made by an American who was working in France at the time, Fort Buchanan follows a gay man raising his teenage daughter by his lonesome while his partner is serving in the military overseas. Things get interesting when he meets a group of army wives who experiment with their own sexuality while their husbands are gone. While odd, Fort Buchanan is heavy on charm and humor — the dialogue is actually directly lifted from a variety of non-cited American TV shows. A truly original film not afraid to show off its quirks. It screens tonight at 6:55 at the Cleveland Institute of Art Cinematheque. Tickets are $10, $8 for Cinematheque members, students and seniors. (Shively)
