Comedian Chelsea Peretti is as well known for her writing as she is for her standup. She's written for alt-weeklies such as the Village Voice and online publications like The Huffington Post. She penned several episodes of the very funny sit-com Parks and Recreation. In her standup routines, she'll joke about things like how mundane sex has become ("some people will jazz it up by talking but I like to remain dead silent," she jokes. "I might say something like, 'Thank you for dinner'"). Her material often centers on the trials and tribulations of dating and she has an mild-mannered approach that will remind you of Seinfeld. She performs tonight at 8 at the Grog Shop. Tickets are $15. (Niesel)
