Rock & Pop, Seasonal Special Happenings

Fun/Tegan & Sara

When: Tue., July 9, 8 p.m. 2013

This show sold out quite a while ago, so you probably already know if you’ll be there tonight. And it should be a fun affair, to turn an oft-used pun (sorry). Fun has taken the pop world by storm since the release of last year’s Some Nights. Really, you’d be remiss if you don’t take the time to dig into 2010’s Aim and Ignite, which is the better album. And, of course, the band will be drawing from both collections for the show’s setlist. Check out “At Least I’m Not As Sad” for a good sense of the band’s blend of theatrics, meaningfulness and instrumentation. While we’re at it, “The Gambler” is probably the best song Nate Ruess has ever written. (FWIW; YMMV.) Tegan and Sara — the “very special guests” of the evening — round out the bill. (Eric Sandy)

Price: $35-$45
