Folks at Monday's Let's Get Fresh Food and Wine Event, to benefit the North Union Farmers' Market, will get a taste of some locally grown delicacies prepared by area chefs — and a taste for the European food economy. European towns tend to rely on more locally grown food than we do, according to the Market's Kiki Stout. "In Europe, everything is regional," she says. "You know who your farmers are, where your food is coming from." About 25 prominent chefs — including Karen Small from Flying Fig, Derek Clayton from Lola, Carmella Fragassi from La Campagna, and Rick Carson from Vue Restaurant, to name a few — will cook with only locally grown fare, and the event has drawn up to 600 hungry participants in years past. Get fresh today from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. at the Eton-Chagrin Boulevard Market, 28601 Chagrin Boulevard, Beachwood. Tickets start at $80. Call 216-751-7656 or visit www.northunionfarmersmarket.org.
