Ghostman & Sandman/Radio People/Forest Management

When: Sat., Dec. 29, 9 p.m. 2012

Ghostman & Sandman formed in Cincinnati in 2004 with the intention of not becoming just another garage rock band from Southern Ohio. “Our guitarist Jeffrey Blocksidge likes instrumental and surf music,” explains drummer Greg Boys. “But we add stranger elements to the mix. Me and the bassist [Matthew Swaidan] listen to a lot of German electronic music and you can tell that we all listen to different types.” The band put out a couple of CDs and one 7-inch before unofficially calling it quits in 2009. But last year, Boyd issued a cassette-only and the band regrouped to play the occasional graduation party. “We’ve never really had a last show,” says Boyd. “We last played in 2009 at the Beachland. But everyone will be Cleveland for the holidays so it made sense to play a show, and I think we’ll play shows here and there going forward.” (Jeff Niesel)
