The documentary film On the Way to School centers on how “too often we forget how lucky we are to go to school.” To elaborate on this concept, the filmmakers follows the lives of four children who endure treacherous treks to attend school. In Kenya, 11-year-old Jackson must avoid during a nine-mile trip to school. In Morocco, 12-year-old Zahira marches through the Atlas Mountains for about a four hour journey. In India, 13-year-old Samuel is pushed in a wheelchair by his brothers for over two miles. And in Argentina, 11-year-old Carlito and his sister ride more than 11 miles on horseback twice a day. See their epic journeys tonight at 7 at the Cleveland Museum of Art. The film shows again at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday. (Siegel).
