Happy Feet

When: Sun., Aug. 11, 1 p.m. 2013

The shops along Slavic Village’s Fleet Avenue aren’t as predominantly Eastern European as they once were but some of the old world charm remains. The Polish restaurant Seven Roses, for example, serves up some of the best pierogi in town. Now in its fourth year, Feet on Fleet aims to encourage family fun and promote the businesses that still populate the street. The street will be closed to traffic but open to bicyclists and pedestrians. Last year, visitors could choose from over 40 activities, including football tosses and bicycle parades. It all starts at 1 p.m. and admission is free. (Jeff Niesel)
