Consistently being funny on the page is a skill or inherent talent few writers have mastered. David Sedaris is one of them. With 150,000 bestselling books and regular essays in the New Yorker, he’s been something of a literary-humor laureate in this country for years. He reads/speaks this evening at 7:30 at the Palace Theatre at Playhouse Square and tickets — which tend to run sort of outrageously high for these events — can be purchased for as little as $10. Sedaris, the voice behind Dress Your Family and Corduroy and Denim and Me Talk Pretty One Day (among others) surely won’t disappoint if, for instance, “laughing” is something you enjoy. (Allard)
