Hit the Lights/A Loss for Words/With the Punches/State Champs/Call It Fiction/Lawskof

When: Sun., Dec. 23, 5:30 p.m. 2012

Nine years is a long time in the pop-punk world, which explains why younger fans consider the Lima, Ohio act Hit the Lights to be veterans. After releasing 2008’s Skip School, Start Fights, the band gathered enough momentum that a bidding war ensued. The group signed to Universal, but after the label seemingly lost interest in promoting the group, the two parted ways, and the band lost some momentum before returning earlier this year with its third studio release, Invicta, an album that reunites them with former singer Colin Ross. While the group’s older fans might have moved on, they’d probably be intrigued by the fact that Ross will join the band on this tour after taking a five-year hiatus from the group. (Nikki Hunt)
