Hoppy Hour

When: Wednesdays. Continues through Oct. 29 2014

Beer is a great thing. But how the hell do you make the stuff? You can find out by attending the Cleveland Botanical Garden’s Hoppy Hour beer education series that takes place Wednesday evenings at the garden throughout the fall. According to the press release, “Hoppy Hour attendees will be able to sip on select brews from Great Lakes Brewing Company and Buckeye Brewing Company while they learn about the horticultural aspects of beer and important craft brewing topics from Botanical Garden horticulturists and brewing experts.” Sounds like fun, as long as you sample the libations. Each week, a different topic will be discussed. Tonight’s topic is hops and the featured beer is Buckeye Brewing’s Cleveland IPA. Hoppy Hour runs from 5:30 to 9 p.m. through Oct. 29. Admission is free for members of Cleveland Botanical Garden and Holden Arboretum, and $5 for all non-members. The beer is sold separately. (Niesel)
