Founded by motivated neighbors more than 45 years ago, Chagrin Falls’ Valley Art Center offers 400 classes annually to more than 1,400 students of all ages and skill levels, as well as presenting group and individual exhibitions of local artists in its gallery. Celebrate the organization and its efforts this weekend with its annual Hot Chocolate fundraiser. The event includes dinner, drinks, dessert (including a specialty dessert drink), dancing and a silent art auction. Emceed by the Chagrin Valley Chamber of Commerce’s Molly Gebler, the event also honors longtime Valley Art Center supporters Jan Mettee, Lois Salmon Toole and David Toole. Tickets are $100 per person ($50 tax deductible) and include dinner, dessert and two drink tickets. Cocktail attire is suggested, and complimentary valet parking is available. The Hot Chocolate benefit takes place from 6 to 10 tonight at the Chagrin Valley Athletic Club. (Usmani) 17260 Snyder Rd., Chagrin Falls, 440-247-7507, valleyartcenter.org.
