Howlin' Good Time

The zoo gets its wolf on.

Wolves are the center of attention at tonight's installment of Night Tracks, the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo's overnight adventure series. "We'll learn how to identify wolves by their tracks and their droppings," says zoo spokesman Tom Robatin.

That should come in handy during the part of the program where several lucky participants strap on radio collars and run through the woods on all fours like wild wolves. Another group then tracks them with compasses and night-vision binoculars. Afterward, everyone hunkers down at the zoo's Wolf Lodge until morning, when breakfast is served. The program ends at 11 a.m. tomorrow, but visitors can roam the zoo for the rest of the day. "It's a unique experience that you aren't going to find unless you go into the wild," says Robatin. Night Tracks happens every Friday through May at the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo. You must bring your own sleeping bag.
Fridays, 7 p.m. Starts: Nov. 3. Continues through May 31
