The non-profit organization Versatile Dance Company is bringing a brand new live dance and music show to PlayhouseSquare this summer entitled "I, Alone”. All proceeds will benefit The Autism Center at University Hospitals (UH) Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital. The show will feature special guests including Lauren Froderman (winner of Fox's So You Think You Can Dance season 7) and singer/songwriter from the UK, Richard Walters. Two worlds collide in this dynamic dance performance which will incorporate live singers and dancing in styles such as contemporary, lyrical, jazz, tap, hip hop and acrobatics. "I, Alone" celebrates how unique each and every person is and ties into the overwhelming statistic that 1 in every 88 children in the U.S. is diagnosed with autism. This entire project was created by Cleveland native Mitchel Federan (from Broadway's The Boy From Oz and The Music Man) who formed Versatile Dance Company at the age of 17. Now at age 20, Federan hopes this new show will bring together the city in which he grew up in and plans on giving back to for the rest of his life.
